Summer in France

It was not until two years ago that I started traveling more frequently in summer. The June holidays were often used to catch-up on school work, and only in November did the real holiday start (pre-uni students I empathize with you, really).

Summer’s such a pleasant time to travel. It’s amazing how we can squeeze so many things into our schedule just because the weather’s good. Here are some photos just taken last week (:

Palace of Fountainebleu

The Metro: our mode of transport in Paris

The Notre Dame’s Rose Window

Stunning view from the top of the Notre Dame. Spot the Eiffel (left), and Basilique du Sacré Coeur (right) in the distance

If I’m not wrong this was taken at the St. Germain- St. Sulpice- Odéon area (my favourite part of Paris!)

La Fontaine Bartholdi at Place des Terreaux in Lyon

Hôtel de Ville (city hall), Lyon

Birds-eye view of Lyon in front of the Basilique Notre Dame de fourvière. Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is split by the Saône and Rhône Rivers

The ever-busy Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe right at the end

The Thinker by Rodin

The Cathedral Clasping Hands by Rodin

La Basilique du Sacré Coeur de Montmartre

Lovely day!

One of the most photographed monuments in the world and rightly so. The Eiffel Tower
