Sushi Mitsuya

We celebrated dad’s birthday at sushi mitsuya. It was also my first time at a fancy schmancy sushi restaurant.

Memorable things include the wobbly chwanmushi studded with chunks of fish, creamy uni nigiri, medium fatty tuna nigiri (my favourite cut because i think the marbling is just right, not too fatty) and the grilled unagi nigiri. I liked how yuzu zest / black salt was sprinkled on some items to give the flavours a different dimension. That was a nice touch.

 Tamago!

Dessert was a very interesting savoury Sakura sorbet, dense red bean mochi and sweet honeydew. A simple end to a very delicious meal.
