Dublin 2012: Aqua @ Howth

A quick post before I carry on with my revision. The hours seem to slip by but nothing is sticking in my head ugh!

Howth is a beautiful suburb located in North Dublin. You can get there by Bus/DART, or driving along the coastal road is also easy enough. (TIP: download the Transport for Ireland, Journey Plan app).

There’s an easy walk to the Howth head which takes about an hour that gives you stunning  views of the sea. Strolling along the East Pier isn’t a bad idea either 😉

Located at the edge of the West Pier is Aqua Restaurant. During the day natural lighting fills the restaurant thanks to their full length windows. A very cheery place for a laid-back afternoon lunch. Reservations are a must if you plan on having a window seat which faces the sea.

Their breads are really good. Soft, crusty and they have a variety of uncommon seeded breads.

We were craving for lobsters that day. I favoured the plain grilled whole lobster for its juicy flesh (though nothing beats what we got in Boston!). The oysters were huge and creamy. And the rosettes of thick cut smoked salmon were equally memorable.

Basically, you can’t go very wrong with any order!

Ended our lovely meal off with a warm toffee pudding. It was surprisingly not too sweet.
