Hong Kong 2012: My “breakfast spot”

It’s fun to explore new places but I love it when I revisit a country. To return to familiar surroundings whilst I’m overseas makes me feel like a citizen of the world.

This is our breakfast spot in Hong Kong, Causeway bay. A traditional Shanghainese breakfast of soy milk, and dough fritters. The quality of the dough fritters has improved tremendously. Crispy on the outside, fluffy and stretchy within. Dunking them into soy milk makes for tummy-warming comfort food.

I can’t pinpoint the exact location but I believe everyone should have a “breakfast spot” they call their own. Causeway bay is a good place to start if you need food in the wee hours of the morning!
